Corona accepts verdict after Impeachment Trial

For culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust, Corona's seat as Chief Justice was questioned within a 43-day impeachment trial. There were many twists and turns in the process, with all the presence of esteemed public servants, lawyers and important witnesses. Since Corona was accused of failing to declare a substantial part of his assets, his lawyers fought hard to defend him. However, he was found guilty after Senate's 20-3 vote.

I wonder what's the effect of this historical event in Philippine politics. If there are speculations that there are other government officials who are also corrupt, it's up to fate or destiny to bring them out for legal proceedings. As Corona's misfortune is truly heartbreaking for many of his supporters, the other side of the fence showed off subdued applause after the deliverance of the verdict. I hope we learned many things from this event in our country.
